Looking at this photo now, I realize I didn't actually go too crazy at the Renegade Craft Fair, which came to NYC this past weekend. Were it not for the fact that I was blindly hungover, I would have definitely stopped by again the next day. I regret not picking up more jewelry. I keep saying I want a small collection of really nice, handmade pieces, but am never able to make the commitment to the price.

But that's not important. Let's talk about the things I did get, which, I realized as I was showing my friends outside the venue, amount to pretty much the props someone doing a parody of me would reach for.

First, a journal. I had actually had my eye on this before it was published. The cover floated across my Pinterest or Tumblr or Instagram or whatever, and I immediately looked it up and realized I'd have to wait. Then I promptly forgot, only to stumble upon author and illustrator Meera Lee Patel at one of the first booths at the fair. I made a beeline for the book, which is a Wreck This Journal concept, but instead applied to reflection, self-improvement, meditation and I'll shut up now.

I had always liked the little ring holders that Chelsea uses for Anomie, so when I found SIN's speckled ceramic take on the idea (for only $15 at the fair) I scooped it right on up, I tell you.

This kitchen + kraft table runner was my big impulse purchase of the day. I actually already had a table runner which went across my bookshelf/TV stand, but it has a few wine stains on it (see previously mentioned hangover) so it wasn't hard to convince myself that I needed to start fresh.

And finally, some wrapping paper from none other than Stay Home Club, who it seemed like everybody and their mom was there to see (I really did see a girl and her mom). While it probably would have made sense to go for one of their traditional t-shirts, I had seen this wrapping paper on their Instagram and the little handwritten "yeah!"s and "I got you a thing!"s stole my predictable heart.
